(ORAL) Present petition is filed praying for quashing FIR No.273 dated 08.10.2015, under Sections 307, 506 and 34 IPC and Sections 25 & 27 of the Arms Act, registered at Police Station Dakha, District Ludhiana, on the basis of compromise entered into between the parties. 2.
Heard.

It transpires from the order dated 26.09.2016 that though Section 307 IPC has been invoked in this case, but there is no injury from the fire shots as the same were in the air.

Both the parties were directed by this Court vide order dated 16.11.2017 to appear before the learned trial Court and get their statements recorded and in pursuance thereof, learned Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Ludhiana, recorded the statements of both the parties and submitted a report dated 08.01.2018. A perusal of the report reveals that the compromise entered into between the parties is with their own free will and without any pressure or coercion.

Inasmuch as the dispute between the parties has been amicably settled and they have already entered into compromise, continuance of the prosecution would be an exercise in futility. Therefore, the aforesaid FIR and all consequent proceedings resulting therefrom are quashed.

Petition is allowed.
