Prayer made in the present petition is for quashing the action of the respondents in not finalizing the revised pension case of the petitioner as forwarded on 20.08.2019, Annexure P-3.

Learned counsel has handed over a copy of communication addressed by the District Education Officer to the petitioner that his claim can be considered for change of option for grant of revised pay scale upto 31.12.1992. He, thus, on instructions, prays that a direction may be given to the respondents to consider the same from the said date in a time bound manner, to which learned State counsel has no objection.

In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, these petitions are hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider and decide the claim of the petitioner, within a period of 4 months, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. Upon doing so, after notice and hearing offered to him and if found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to his interest, the same shall contain reasons and the petitioner shall be free to seek legal redress thereupon.
