SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) This petition is for seeking protection of life and liberty of petitioners, who alleged to have married against the wishes of respondents No. 5 to 7, father and brothers of petitioner No.1. Learned counsel for the petitioners has limited his prayer for taking appropriate action in accordance with law on the representation dated 24.01.2017 (Annexure P-5) made by the petitioners. It has been stated that both the petitioners are major. The date of birth of petitioner No.1-Gurpreet Kaur is 26.02.1988 as per copy of Secondary School Examination Certificate (Annexure P-1) and that of petitioner No.2-Taqdeer Balraj Singh is 20.04.1987 as per copy of Passport (Annexure P-2). They got married on 23.01.2017 Photographs of marriage are Annexure P-4.

In view of the prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, but without expressing any opinion on the validity of marriage of petitioners, petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana to look into the representation dated Sachin Mehta 2017.02.

CRM-M-3194-2017 -224.01.2017 (Annexure P-5) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of copy of this order along with representation in his office. However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them.
