The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition is that despite the appeal (Annexure P-7) having been filed on 04.02.2026, the same has still not been taken up for hearing. Along with the said appeal, stay application (Annexure P-8) has also been filed. During the pendency of the said appeal, on 11.03.2026, respondent No.2 has started demolition on the land of the petitioner herein.

Learned counsel for the respondents is not in a position to deny the fact that the appeal and the stay application preferred by the petitioner have not been taken up for hearing till date.

In view of the above, we deem it appropriate to dispose off the present writ petition with a direction that the authority concerned shall decide the stay application (Annexure P-8) expeditiously and in accordance with law. Till such time as the stay application (Annexure P-8) is not decided, no demolition work shall be carried out by the respondents on the land of the petitioner.
