CRM-M-16329-2025 Prayer in this petition filed under Section 528 of BNSS is for issuance of directions to official respondents to take action on the representation dated 20.12.2024 (Annexure P-4), filed by the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner, inter alia, contends that despite the petitioner sustaining grievous injuries at the hands of the accused in an incident that occurred on 13.12.2024, no action has been taken by the jurisdictional police authorities. Referring to Annexures P-2 and P-3, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner suffered a fracture in his right tibia as a result of the brutal MOHD YAKUB 2025.03.25 18:37 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh

CRM-M No.16329 of 2025 attack, for which surgery was performed. It is further submitted that, although a cognizable offence has occurred, however, the jurisdictional police authorities have not taken any action, and after the initial medical examination at Rajindra Hospital Patiala, the medical ruqa of the petitioner suggesting it to be medico-legal case under Section 39 of Cr.P.C. was forwarded to the jurisdictional police authorities. Learned State counsel appears on an advance notice and on instructions from SI Sham Lal, submits that the concerned Police Station had not received the entire medical record of the petitioner and in case any cognizable offence is made out, appropriate action will be taken.

Without commenting anything on merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the jurisdictional police authorities to take appropriate action strictly in accordance with law, within eight weeks.
