JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) Prayer is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.13 dated 16.5.2015 for offence punishable under Sections 420, 176, 120-B of Indian Penal Code and Section 13(1) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 registered with Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Phase-1, Punjab at Mohali.
As per allegations, compensation for non existent acquired land measuring 9000 Kanals for construction of Ranjit Sagar Dam was distributed by the Court on the basis of information submitted by the office of Land Acquisition Collector.
It was contended that the petitioner who was the then Land Acquisition Officer now retired as no role in the alleged fraudulent distribution. He further submits that as per the stand of the investigating agency, the investigations are over and the custodial interrogation of the petitioner was never sought. However, the petitioner along with other co-
CRM-M- 32156 of 2015 #2# accused has been summoned to appear before the Special Judge, Mohali on 23.09.2015.
Proxy counsel appearing for the petitioner points out that the petitioner has since put in appearance before the learned trial Court and has been released on interim bail and that he is ready and willing to face the trial.
In view of the above, interim protection/bail granted vide order dated 19.09.2015 by this Court is made absolute. Petition stands disposed of.
