(ORAL) Learned counsel for petitioner No.1 seeks the permission to withdraw the instant petition, while submitting that petitioner No.1 would be moving a fresh representation to respondent No.4-Senior Superintendent of Police, SAS Nagar, Mohali, exclusively praying therein for the protection of his life and liberty only and as regards the rest of the relief as claimed in the present petition, he (petitioner No.1) would be availing the alternative efficacious and appropriate remedy, as may be permissible to him under the law, for this purpose. He further prays that the said respondent be directed to take appropriate action on the fresh representation of petitioner No.1 within some specific time frame.

Resultantly, the petition in hand stands dismissed for having been withdrawn qua petitioner No.1 accordingly, with the direction that in case, petitioner No.1 moves any fresh representation to respondent No.4 specifically restricting his prayer therein to the protection of his life and liberty only, then the said respondent shall look into the same and if petitioner No.1 would be found to be genuinely deserving the protection of his life and liberty, then he would take appropriate action strictly in accordance with law, in the given set of facts and circumstances of the matter, preferably within two weeks thereafter.
