ARVIND SINGH SANGWAN J. (Oral) Since the Bar is on strike, the Lawyers are abstaining from work and no one is appearing.

Prayer in this petition is for issuance of direction to the official respondents to decide the representation (Annexure P1) filed by the petitioners, regarding threats of involving them in some false case at the instance of respondents No.3 and 4.

A perusal of the representation (Anexure P1) show that the petitioners claim that they are running a Chemist shop and are holding a valid Drug Licence. Respondent No.3 is stated to be a self-styled President of some Sabha and the private respondents are threatening the petitioners on social media by posting false news that the petitioners are involved in selling of drugs and on that account, they have been blackmailed. The petitioners have also given the mobile numbers in the representation from where they are receiving the calls.

Since, this petition is pending since 2018 and despite availing 03 dates, no reply has been filed on behalf of the Senior Superintendent of Police, District Ferozepur, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to dispose of the representation expeditiously (Annexure P1) after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and take appropriate action, if so required.
