NARESH KUMAR SANGHI, J (Oral) Prayer in this petition, filed under Section 482, Cr.P.C., is for issuance of directions to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala (respondent No. 4) and the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nabha (respondent No. 5), not to harass the petitioner, Rajesh Kumar, on the pretext of investigation and in case the petitioner was required for investigation, then he might be served with a notice under Section 160, Cr.P.C. Further prayer is to investigate the conduct of the Reader of respondent No. 5, who is demanding a sum of `5,00,000/- (Rupees five lacs only), for not registering the case against the petitioner.

After hearing learned counsel for the parties, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent Nos. 4 and 5, not to call the petitioner to the police station or any other place by the District Police, Patiala, without exhausting the procedure laid down in Section 160, Cr.P.C. So far as the second prayer of the petitioner to take action against Reader of respondent No. 5 is concerned, the petitioner may take appropriate remedy before learned Area Judicial Magistrate in accordance with law.
