The short grouse raised on behalf of the petitioner in the present writ petition is for releasing interest on the delayed disbursal of compensation amount.

While referring to the short reply filed on behalf of respondents No.1 and 5, learned State counsel submits that a claim of Rs.13,75,086/- has been raised against HSVP towards the interest payable to the petitionerlandowner on account of the delayed disbursal of compensation. 3.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondent-HSVP submits that, upon verification, the amount shall be released in favour of the SONIKA 2026.05.29 15:53 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document
CWP-8373-2026 (O&M) --2-- concerned Land Acquisition Collector within a period of three weeks from today.

Upon this, learned State counsel representing the Land Acquisition Collector submits that the payment shall be released in favour of the petitioner within two weeks thereafter.

In view of the aforesaid, the present petition stands disposed of. It is made clear that in case the respondents fail to abide by the aforesaid time schedule, the respondents No.4 and 5 shall be liable to pay costs of Rs.1 lakh each to the petitioner. The said costs shall be borne by the officers concerned from their own pockets and shall not be burdened upon the State Exchequer. The petitioner shall also be at liberty to seek revival of the present writ petition in case the needful is not done. 6.
