*** HARSH BUNGER, J. (Oral) The instant Writ Petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India inter alia seeking a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing respondent No.2 to issue passport to the petitioner. 2.

Ms. Amrita Singh, Advocate appears on behalf of the respondents, pursuant to the advance copy of petition having been sent to the Union of India and has handed over a photocopy of notice dated 08.04.2025 issued to the petitioner, by the Assistant Passport Officer, Amritsar, under Section 12 of the Passports Act, 1967, which is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions and also a copy of the same has been supplied to learned counsel for the petitioner in Court today itself. 2.1 Learned counsel appearing for the respondents further submits that till date, the petitioner has not responded to the said notice dated 08.04.2025.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner prays that he may be permitted to withdraw the instant writ petition at this stage with liberty to the petitioner to respond to the notice dated 08.04.2025. 4.

It goes without saying that, in case, the petitioner submits his response to the aforesaid notice dated 08.04.2025, then the concerned Passport Authorities shall proceed to take a final decision in the matter in accordance with law.
