Mr. K.B. Raheja, Advocate for the petitioners. HARINDER SINGH SIDHU, J The case has been taken up by way of Video Conference as per instructions in view of COVID-19 pandemic.

Grievance of the petitioners, who are husband and wife living in Moga, raised in this petition is that petitioner No.2 had assisted respondent No.4 in getting his Visa prepared on assurance of being paid a sum of Rs.40,000/-. He had received Rs.20,000/- from respondent No.4 in this respect but instead of paying the balance amount of Rs.20,000/-, respondent No.4 has dropped his plan to go abroad due to spread of COVID-19 and is demanding his money back.

Learned counsel states that the petitioners are receiving constant threat of being implicated in false case if they do not return the money to respondent No.4.

They are harassed by being frequently called to the Police Station without adhering to the mandatory provisions of law contemplated under Section 160 Cr.P.C in the guise of inquiry, at the behest of respondent Nos.4 & 5.
