Thereafter, a reply dated 05.08.2021 has been filed by the IGP, Jalandhar Range, Jalandhar, stating therein that the first investigating officer and the second investigating officer, i.e. ASI Hans Raj and ASI Dilbag Singh, did not carry out any effective investigation and consequently both of them as also the SHO who obviously did not 'supervise them properly', have all been subjected to a departmental enquiry which would be taken to its logical conclusion. The investigation is now being carried out by Inspector Karnail Singh, SHO of Police Station Model Town, Hoshiarpur, as per the IGPs' affidavit. That being so, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner no longer wishes to pursue this petition. Dismissed as withdrawn.
It is expected that the departmental enquiry initiated against all three officials would be carried to its logical conclusion fairly and properly. A copy of this order be conveyed to the Inspector General of Police, Jalandhar Range, accordingly.
