SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Petitioners are seeking protection to their life and liberty from private respondents, who are parents and brother of petitioner no. 1-Damajit Kaur.

Learned counsel for petitioners submits that petitioners are major and have married on 04.08.2018. Private respondents are not happy with this marriage and are posing threat to their life and liberty. On behalf of respondent no. 4 Mr. Shakti Mehta, Advocate had put in appearance and on his request, parties were sent to Mediation and Conciliation Centre of this Court, where interaction between parties has taken place. However, they could not reach at any amicable solution. Mediator has sent the file back with report that there is possibility of threat to life and liberty of petitioners from family of petitioner no. 1. Learned counsel for respondent no. 4 submits that petitioner no. 1 has already been married about a year back and without getting that marriage dissolved, she has contracted second marriage. CRM-M-33631 of 2018 -2respondent no. 4, petitioner no. 1 submits that she was not married earlier, rather her engagement had taken place with one Simarpreet Singh and now she has married of her own volition with petitioner no. 2. Learned counsel for respondent no. 4 submits that private respondents will not pose any threat to life and liberty of petitioners. The worry of father is only for future of petitioner no. 1. Without expressing any opinion on the validity of marriage of petitioners and keeping in view respective submissions of learned counsel for petitioner and respondent no. 4, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala to look into representation dated 04.08.2018 (Annexure P-4) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of copy of this order along with representation in his office.

However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them.
