Ms. Armaan Gagneja, Advocate for the petitioner. AARADHNA SAWHNEY , J (ORAL) Petitioner-a father of a girl aged about 18 years, who has been missing since 24.02.2026, has filed the present petition under Section 528 of BNSS, praying therein to issue appropriate directions to official respondents to look into representation dated 24.02.2026 and decide the same expeditiously, in accordance with law.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was blessed with a female child on 08.10.2006, who had been pursuing her studies. Surprisingly on 24.02.2026, she suddenly went missing from her parental home. Efforts were made by the petitioner and other family members to trace her whereabouts, but all in vain. Consequently, a 'missing report' was lodged. It is submitted that according to the information received by the petitioner, his daughter remains unmarried to date.

Grievance of the petitioner is that no action has been initiated on the complaint by the police Authorities. At this stage, learned counsel restricts his prayer to direct respondent No.2 to decide the representation dated 24.02.2026 (Annexure P.1) moved by the petitioner.

After considering the respective submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner and the averments made in the petition, without commenting on the merits thereof, the present petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 to consider and dispose of the representation dated 24.02.2026 (Annexure P.1), within a period of four weeks, in accordance with law in an expeditious manner.
