Petitioner Gurpartap Singh and 45 others working as Head Constables in Punjab Police posted at various places in the State of Punjab by way of filing the present civil writ petition against the State of Punjab etc. pray for issuance of appropriate writ , order or direction to the official respondents to step up the pay of petitioners at par with their junior constable Sukhdeep Kaur-respondent No. 18 and to grant all arrears of pay and consequential benefits along with interest @ 12% p.a. According to the petitioners they had served a legal notice dated 21.1.2021 (Annexure P-8) upon the official respondents before filing of the writ petition without evoking any response.

Notice of motion to Respondents No. 1 to 17.

Ms. Maloo Chahal, DAG, Punjab has accepted notice on behalf of the official respondents No. 1 to 17.

CWP No. 10331 of 2021 would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the official respondents to consider the legal notice dated 21.1.2021 (Annexure P-8) and take necessary action thereon. Learned State counsel submits that the official respondents would abide by any direction in that regard issued by this Court.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of in terms of order dated 19.6.2020 passed in CWP No. 8290 of 2020 (O&M) (Annexure P-7) directing the official respondents more particularly respondent No. 2-The Director General of Police, Punjab, Punjab Police Head Quarter, Sector 9, Chandigarh to consider the legal notice dated 21.1.2021 (Annexure P-8) and then dispose it of in accordance with law by passing a speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. It is further observed that in case the petitioners are found entitled to any benefits, then the same be released to them within two months thereafter. (H.S.
