**** MANJARI NEHRU KAUL , J. (Oral) Due to the outbreak of pandemic COVID-19, the instant case is being taken up for hearing through video conferencing. Petitioners have filed this writ petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect their life and liberty from respondents No. 4 to 7 and restraining respondents No.2 and 3 from taking criminal action against the petitioners at the instance of respondents No.4 to 7.
On the last date of hearing learned APP, UT, Chandigarh was directed to find out the existence of alleged threat.
Learned APP, UT, Chandigarh has apprised this Court that the petitioners were not available at the given address. He further submits that the statements of the private respondents, who are immediate family members of petitioner No.1, were recorded, wherein, they specifically stated that they were not even aware about the whereabouts of the petitioners and hence there was no question of extending any threat to them.
In the circumstances, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the instant petition may be disposed of, in the light of the statement made by learned APP, UT, Chandigarh in Court today.
Disposed off.
