MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing.

The instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India has been filed for issuance of direction to respondents No. 1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of private respondents No. 4 and 5.

In compliance of the last order dated 02.07.2020, reply by way of affidavit of Shri Sameer Verma, PPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police (West), Ludhiana has been filed on behalf of the State wherein it is stated that the petitioners are not residing at the given address therefore a joint statement of the private respondents No. 4 and 5, i.e. father and mother respectively of petitioner No.2, has been recorded to the effect that though RUPINDER KAUR 2020.07.06 15:02 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document initially they were objecting to the marriage between the petitioners, but

CRWP-4327-2020 [ 2 ] now they have no objection and would not interfere in any manner in the married life of the petitioners. Copy of the joint statement of respondents No.4 and 5 is attached with the written statement as Annexure R-1/T. The same is taken on record.

Learned counsel for the petitioners states that in view of the statement made by the private respondents, nothing survives in the present petition and the same has been rendered infructuous. Disposed of as such.
