**** JAGMOHAN BANSAL , J. (Oral) The petitioner through instant petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is seeking directions to official respondent to take legal action against the private respondent in FIR No.0014 dated 27.03.2023 registered at Police Station Khuhi Khera, District Fazilka, under Sections 376 and 506 of IPC.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that respondent No.2 forcefully solemnised marriage with the petitioner and thereafter filed a criminal writ petition before this Court seeking protection of life and liberty. The marriage of petitioner with respondent No.2 was solemnised on account of pressure and influence of respondent No.2. The petitioner has lodged an FIR against respondent No.2, however, police is not taking legal action against him.

Mr. Amish Sharma, Asstt. A.G., Punjab, who is present in Court on advance notice, submits that the jurisdictional authority would look into the matter and take appropriate steps to redress the grievance of ANJU GOEL 2023.04.18 14:48 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

He further submits that in view of order passed by this Court in criminal writ petition filed by the petitioner and respondent No.2 seeking directions to protect their lives and liberty, it is not possible to take coercive steps at the first instance against the private respondent. The matter is under investigation.

In view of the statement made by learned State counsel, this Court is sanguine of the fact that the jurisdictional authority would investigate the matter in a fair, unbiased and independent manner and proceed in accordance with law.
