(Oral) The petitioners have approached this Court seeking protection of their life and liberty on the premise that petitioner No.2 has performed marriage with petitioner No.1 against the wishes of her parents and other family members and the petitioners are apprehending threat to their life and liberty at their instance. Notice of motion.

Mr. Gautam Dutt, APP, U.T., Chandigarh accepts notice on behalf of the respondent - State.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has placed on record the order dated 02.08.2010 vide which the first marriage of petitioner No.2 - Nidhi was dissolved by way of a decree of divorce under Section 13-B of the Hindu Marriage Act.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, at this stage, has submitted that a representation dated 27.07.2018 was made to the MOHD YAKUB 2018.08.10 14:33 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

Without examining the question of validity or otherwise of marriage of the petitioners, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to the Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh to look into grievance of the petitioners expressed in the representation (Annexure P4) and take appropriate action, if any, warranted in the circumstances.
