1. The present appeal is taken up for hearing today. When the matter is called, none appears on behalf of the appellant.

2. It is pertinent to note that none has been appearing for the appellant for the last several dates of hearing. The appeal pertains to the year 2002 and has been pending adjudication for a considerable length of time. Despite repeated listings, no effective steps have been taken to prosecute the matter.

3. The continued absence of the appellant or his counsel clearly reflects lack of interest in pursuing the present appeal. In such circumstances, no useful purpose would be served by keeping the instant appeal pending on the docket indefinitely.

4. Accordingly, the present appeal is dismissed in default and for want of prosecution.
