This is petition seeking direction to respondents no. 1 and 2 to protect life and liberty of petitioners and also to give status report regarding DDR No. 67 dated 17.06.2018, registered at Police Station Sector 19, Chandigarh.

Learned P.P., U.T. Chandigarh submits that the police on enquiry did not find any injury on the person of complainant and other persons as mentioned in DDR. Commission of non-cognizable offence was found, as such, no action was taken in that matter leaving petitioners at liberty to avail other legal remedies. Regarding protection of life and liberty of petitioners, he submits that it is a matrimonial dispute between petitioner no. 4 and respondents no. 5. Petitioners no. 1 to 3 are parents and brother of petitioner no. 4 while respondents no. 3 and 4 are parents of respondent no.

5. The police will take action as and when petitioners apprehend threat to their life and liberty.

CRM-M-34384 of 2018 -2In view of submission of learned P.P., U.T. Chandigarh, instant petition is disposed of with liberty to petitioners to avail other legal remedies available to them under the law with regard to subject matter of DDR No. 67 dated 17.06.2018, registered at Police Station Sector 19, Chandigarh.

Petitioner may file representation before Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh at any point of time they apprehend danger to their life and liberty. On filing of such representation, the same be looked into, verified and further necessary action, as required, shall be taken.
