The petitioner has filed this petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.38 dated 23.5.2018 registered for the offences under Sections 409, 465, 467, 468, 471 IPC read with Section 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 at Police Station Ghuman Kalan, District Gurdaspur.

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and have gone through the record.

As per the allegations, the present petitioner Sarabjit Singh was posted as Junior Engineer, Department of Water Supply and Sanitation, Sub Division No.1, Gurdaspur. As per prosecution version, he had committed fraud of lakhs of rupees by not paying electricity bills etc. The allegations against the petitioner are embezzlement of funds of the bills of eight HARPAL SINGH PARMAR 2018.08.14 16:47 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

Cr. Misc. No.M-34538 of 2018 [2] villages and of other funds etc. which are serious one and he is required for custodial interrogation.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case, I do not find it a fit case where the petitioner is entitled for the grant of anticipatory bail.

Therefore, finding no merit in this petition, the same is dismissed.
