**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) This petition has been taken for hearing through video conference due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Present petition has been filed seeking the parole for a period of four weeks as the mother of the petitioner has died on 24.06.2020 and the Bhog Ceremony has been fixed for 05.07.2020. Learned counsel for the petitioner argues that there is no one in the family of the petitioner to perform the Bhog Ceremony of his mother as the petitioner is the only son, without whom the Bhog Ceremony of his mother cannot be performed. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though mother of the petitioner, while she was alive, had submitted an application for the grant of parole to the petitioner on the ground of her serious illness, but immediately thereafter she NARESH KUMAR 2020.07.03 12:31 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh
CRWP-4374-2020 -2unfortunately died on 24.06.2020, after which, petitioner through his counsel sent an email to the Superintendent, District Jail, Karnal, which has been attached as Annexure P-4 for the grant of parole for performing Kriya Ceremony of his late mother. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that as the Bhog Ceremony of the deceased mother of the petitioner is fixed for 05.07.2020, the jail authorities be directed to decide the application for the grant of parole by 04.07.2020. Ms. Tanisha Peshawaria, Deputy A.G., Haryana, appears through video conference, for the State, keeping in view the advance copy given and states that the email, by which the parole has been claimed by the petitioner through his counsel, will be decided by the Superintendent, District Jail, Karnal by 04.07.2020 positively, by passing an appropriate speaking order.
Learned counsel for the petitioner states that keeping in view the statement given by learned counsel for the State, he does not want to press the present writ petition any further and the same may be disposed of as such.
Ordered accordingly.
Respondents-State will be bound by the statement recorded above.
