**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) In the present writ petition, the grievance which is being raised by the petitioner is that though he retired on 30.04.2007, but the retiral benefits were released to him only in December, 2016 without any valid justification.

Petitioner is seeking interest on the said delayed payments in view of the settled principle of law as settled by the Full Bench of this Court in A.S. Randhawa Vs. State of Punjab and others, 1997(3) SCT

468. Further, petitioner is also praying for release of his benefit of ACP after four years and nine years of service, which has also not been released by the respondents.

CWP-9978-2019 -2respondents with a legal notice on 21.01.2019 (Annexure P-6), which is still pending consideration with the respondents and the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to the respondents to decide the said legal notice.

In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner, the respondents are directed to decide the legal notice dated 21.01.2019 (Annexure P-6) by passing a speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. Present writ petition stands disposed of.
