(Oral) Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that FIR No.23, dated 13.2.2023, Police Station Chattiwind, District Amritsar Rural, under Sections 323, 379-A, 427, 452, 506, 148, 149 IPC (Annexure P-1) was lodged at the statement of husband of the petitioner No.1 against the private respondents who are threatening the petitioners with dire consequences in case the FIR is not compromised. It has been submitted that although a representation dated 01.04.2023 (Annexure P-11) was submitted to the police, but to no avail.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners, and without commenting anything as regards the merits of the assertions made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Amritsar Rural, to get the representation dated 01.04.2023 (Annexure P-11) examined qua the limited extent of the alleged threat perception of the petitioners. CRWP-3626-2023 (O&M) - 2 - 2023:PHHC:054470 that there is genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioners, then necessary steps warranted under law be taken thereupon. Needless to mention that it shall be open to the petitioners to approach the Area Magistrate, concerned so as to move an application under Section 156(3) Cr.P.C. in case any offence is alleged to have been committed by the private respondents.

A copy of this order along with copy of representation dated 01.04.2023 (Annexure P-11) be sent to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Amritsar Rural, for necessary compliance. It is expected that needful be done preferably within a period of 2 months from today.
