By way of present petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, prayer has been made for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondent No.4. 2.

At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that instead of pressing the present petition on merits, his clients would be satisfied in case direction is issued to the respondents to decide the representation (Annexure P-3) moved at the instance of petitioners by passing a speaking order expeditiously.

Prayer seems to be justified.

Upon advance notice, Mr. Athar Ahmed, DAG, Punjab, appears on behalf of official respondents and raises no objection to the innocuous prayer made on behalf of the petitioners. 5.
