VERSUS

State of Punjab and others ......RESPONDENTS.

CORAM:- HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SURINDER GUPTA

Present:

Mr. Vipul Aggarwal, Advocate for the petitioner.

******* SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Heard.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that respondent No. 5 has decamped with a sum of `2.75 lakhs, which was given to him for handing over at petitioner's residence. A complaint to this effect was moved to the police, which was marked to ASI Baldev Singh, who instead of enquiring the matter, is pressurising the petitioner to compromise the matter with respondent No. 5. A representation was also moved to Commissioner of Police, Amritsar to this effect but no action has been taken so far.

Without expressing any opinion on merits of this case, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No. 2-Commissioner of Police, Amritsar to look into the grievances of the petitioner as put forth by learned counsel for the petitioner and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

It is, however, made clear that nothing contained in this order shall be read as giving any type of protection to the petitioner in any criminal, civil or other proceedings pending or instituted against him and also to prevent police against the petitioner in any criminal case.
