On 25.3.2026, the following order was passed: 'Petitioners, who are accused in case FIR No 20 dated 10.02.2026 registered against them, for commission of offences punishable under Sections 115(2),118(2),351(2),190,191(3) of BNS registered at Police Station Mullanpur, District SAS Nagar, have filed the instant petition, praying for grant of pre-arrest bail.
Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the petitioners, who have clean past antecedents, have been falsely implicated in the present case only on account of prior enmity. It is submitted that the parties, being neighbours, were nursing a grudge against each other. Further, as per the allegations, petitioner No. 2, who was armed with an iron pipe, had inflicted a blow with the same on the head of Balwinder Singh-uncle of complainant. He is further alleged to have scratched the neck of the complainant and hit him (c) with an iron bangle (kada) wom by him, as a result of which blood started oozing out. The said injury has been declared as 'Grievous in nature. Admittedly, the injury attributed to petitioner No.
CRM-M No.16148 of 2026 -21, who gave an iron pipe blow on the shoulder of the uncle of the complainant, has been declared as 'Simple' in nature. Heard. Contents perused.

Mr. Kamalpreet Bawa, DAG Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and prays for some time to file status report. Mr. Gaurav Kalsi, Advocate has appeared for the complainant and filed memo of appearance.

Meanwhile, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, only petitioner No.1-Balwinder Singh @ Bhinder is hereby directed to join investigation within seven days from today and cooperate in the same. In the event of his arrest, he shall be released on interim bail on his furnishing personal/surety bonds to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer/Investigating Officer. He shall also abide by conditions as envisaged under Section 482(2) BNSS.'

Learned State counsel (on instructions) submits that pursuant to the order dated 25.3.2026, petitioner no.1-Balwinder Singh @ Bhinder has joined investigation and is no longer required for custodial interrogation.

In view of the above, the petition in hand qua petitioner no.1 Balwinder Singh @ Bhinder, is confirmed. The interim order dated 25.3.2026, passed by this Court is made absolute qua petitioner no.1, subject to the conditions as enumerated under Section 482(2) of BNSS. 3.1 As regards petitioner no.2-Ranbeer Singh, since the parties have entered into a compromise, the petitioner no.2 is also afforded the concession of anticipatory bail subject to his joining investigation on 27.4.2026 or as and when called by the Investigating Officer concerned. 4.
The petition accordingly, stands, disposed of.
CRM-M No.16148 of 2026 -35. This order should not be treated as "blanket" order. It will not be read granting petitioners indefinite protection from arrest. It shall be confined to the FIR mentioned ibid and will not operate in respect of any other incident that involves commission of an offence. 6.
Liberty is reserved in favour of State/complainant to move for cancellation/recall of this order in case the petitioners violate any condition stipulated under Section 482(2) of BNSS or upon showing any other sufficient cause.

Needless to say that anything observed herein above shall not be construed to be an opinion on the merits of the case. 8.
Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, stand disposed of accordingly.
