Present petition has been filed under Section 528 of BNSS seeking direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to conduct fair and impartial investigation in FIR No.9 dated 31.01.2026 registered under Sections 115(2), 118(1), 190, 191(3), 324(2) of BNS at Police Station Ghuman Kalan, District Gurdaspur.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that accused/respondents No.4 to 7 along with two unidentified persons forcibly abducted injured Sukhrajpal Singh/petitioner in a car from the village and brutally assaulted him with sharp and blunt weapons causing multiple injuries on his body and also broke his mobile phone. However, after registration of FIR, accused/respondents No.4 and 5 have not been arrested so far and they are roaming freely in the village.

Mr. Anup Singh, AAG, Punjab, accepted notice on behalf of the respondent-State and has opposed the contention made by learned counsel for the petitioner. At the very outset, learned State counsel submitted that all the accused i.e. respondents No.4 to 7 have been arrested in this case. 5.

Keeping in view the submission made by learned State counsel, the present petition is disposed of as nothing survives for adjudication in the present matter.
