CHANDIGARH CRM-M-21813-2021 (O&M) Date of Decision: 15.06.2021 Ramanpreet Singh..........................................Petitioner

Versus

State of Punjab................................................. Respondent CORAM : HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE MANJARI NEHRU KAUL ...

(through video conferencing)

Present:

Mr. Munish Puri, Advocate for the petitioner.

Mr. Luvinder Sofat, AAG, Punjab.

MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) Prayer in this petition is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in FIR No. 55 dated 04.03.2021 under Section 67 (IT Act) registered at Police Station Jandiala, District Amritsar Rural. Contends that a false and fabricated case has been registered against the petitioner for extraneous considerations. Further contends that both the petitioner and the complainant had been in a relationship since the year 2017, which however was unacceptable to the complainant's family who had been threatening the petitioner with dire consequences. Further contends that due to the pressure exerted by the complainant's family the complainant severed her ties with the petitioner and even prior to the registration of the FIR in question a false and frivolous complaint had been RUPINDER KAUR 2021.06.16 10:05 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document filed by the maternal uncle of the complainant qua which a compromise

CRM-M-21813-2021 (O&M) [ 2 ] (Annexure P2) had been effected between them. He further contends that the allegations levelled in the FIR that the petitioner out of vengeance had circulated certain obscene videos of the complainant from phone no. +1 (513) 6543805 lends credence to his false implication as the number does not belong to the petitioner and hence he could not be in any way linked to the crime in question.

A perusal of the FIR in question reveals that very serious allegations have been levelled against the petitioner for which in the opinion of this court he does not deserve the concession of anticipatory bail. Dismissed.
