On the asking of the court, Ms. Anu Chatrath, Addl.A.G., Punjab, who is present in court, accepts notice on behalf of the State. Limited prayer made in this petition is for release of amount deposited by the petitioners towards contributory provident fund alongwith interest accrued thereon.

Petition is disposed of with a direction that the concerned authority shall consider the claim of the petitioners and take necessary steps at the earliest. In case, there is inordinate delay, petitioners shall be entitled to Rs.10,000/- as costs which shall be deducted from the salary of the officer(s) responsible for delay.
