Civil writ petition under Article 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India has been filed by the petitioner seeking details of marks obtained by the candidates in the interview for the post of Process Server advertised by learned District and Sessions Judge, Amritsar as per public notice dated 26.08.2020. After the interview, which the petitioner attended on 25.01.2021, the result was made public for the selected candidates only and no cut off list allegedly or the marks obtained by the candidates were disclosed.

In the opinion of this Court, petitioner has alternate efficacious remedy available under the Right to Information Act, 2005 seeking the above said material and a writ of mandamus would not lie at the first instance.
