Present contempt petition has been filed alleging violation of order dated 28.05.2020 passed by this Court in CWP-7497-2020 titled as Malkit Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and others. Learned counsel for the petitioner argues that the respondents were required to pass a speaking order on the legal notice dated 10.04.2020 submitted by the petitioner within a period of 30 days, but the same has not been done so far and the respondents are intentionally and willfully disobeying the order passed by this Court dated 28.05.2020 making themselves liable to be proceeded against under the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971.

COCP-1283-2020 -2Ms. Deepali Puri Sandhu, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, who has joined the proceedings through video conference, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition, accepts notice on behalf of respondents.

Learned State counsel has placed on record a copy of order dated 25.06.2020 and the same is taken on record. Learned State counsel states that the order dated 28.05.2020 (Annexure P-1) has already been complied with and the speaking order has already been passed on 25.06.2020, a copy of which has been sent to learned counsel for the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that as the speaking order has been passed by the respondents, he does not want to press this contempt petition any further, but seeks liberty to challenge the said order before the appropriate forum in case the petitioner is aggrieved against the same.
