(Oral) In this writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner has prayed for quashing the action/decision of respondent No.2, dated 11.06.2020 (Annexure P-7), vide which the promotion case of the petitioner to the post of Superintendent Grade-II has been kept pending so as to first decide the pending representation dated 31.12.2019 (Annexure P-6) of respondent No.3 for his retrospective promotion on the post of Senior Assistant from the year 2007. Besides, a further prayer has been made for directing the respondents to consider and grant the petitioner his due promotion on the post of Superintendent Grade-II forthwith from the due date w.e.f. 10.02.2020, as per law.

After arguing for sometime, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied, if the petition is disposed off with a direction to the official respondent No.2 to look into the representation dated 12th June, 2020 (Annexure P-8) and take appropriate action.

In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioner, the petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2 - the Director, Horticulture Department, Punjab, Kheti Bhawan, Phase-6, SAS Nagar, Mohali, to look into the representation dated 12th June, 2020 (Annexure P-8) and take necessary steps, if any required, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within two months, from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order.
