Through the instant petition, the petitioners seek issuance of directions upon the official respondents, to ensure protection of their lives and liberty at the hands of the private respondents. 2.

On 19.04.2024, this Court had directed the learned State counsel to file a status report with regard to the apprehension expressed by the petitioners, which has accordingly been filed today, on affidavit of Simranjeet Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Zirakpur. The status report is taken on record.

The status report makes revelations that, appropriate action has been taken against the erring person(s) and now there is no threat to the lives and liberty of the petitioner, as Harjot Singh has already been arrested as per law. Nonetheless, the mobile number of A.S.I.
