The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 to 8. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that petitioner No.1 is already married and petitioner No.2 is unmarried and both the consenting adults, decided to live together, however, they faced strong objections from respondents No.4 to 8 and their relationship is not acceptable to respondents No.4 to 8 and they are threatening the petitioners with dire consequences. The petitioners apprehend danger to their life and liberty from respondents No.4 to 8 and in this regard, submitted representations dated 20.03.2025 (Annexures P-5 and P-6, respectively) to respondents No.2 and 3 but no action has been taken so far.

Ms. Geeta Sharma, DAG, Haryana, who is present in Court, accepts notice for the official respondents. Learned counsel for the petitioners is directed to supply a copy of complete paper book to learned State counsel during course of the day. 5.
Without commenting on the relationship of the petitioners and entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of this petition with direction to respondent No.2 to decide the representations of the petitioners (Annexures P-5 and P-6, respectively) within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and grant them protection, if there is any threat to their life and liberty in accordance with law. 6.
It is made clear that this order shall not be taken to protect the petitioners from legal action for violation of law, if any committed by them.
