The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to make payment qua dues/billing amount of goods purchased by Respondent-Gram Panchayat Chakrial, Block Hazipur, District Hoshiarpur through its Sarpanch.

The petitioner is claiming that it has provided material required to construct "Gali" under the jurisdiction of Gram Panchayat Chakrial. The said material was purchased by Respondent No. 5 and 6 in the year 2022 but even after a lapse of 4 years its payment has not been released.

Mr. Aman Dhir, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who on advance notice is present in Court on behalf of respondent-State, on instructions from Mr. Sukhpreet Singh, BDPO, Hazipur submits that as per his instructions admitted dues would be released within four months from today.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.

If the respondent fails to release the payments within stipulated period, it shall be liable to pay interest @ 6% per annum from the expiry of said period.
