Mr. Bikrakjit Aroura, Advocate for the complainant. *** Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Harpal Singh from Police Station Mehta, District Amritsar states that as a result of enquiry conducted by Superintendent of Police Amritsar (Rural), no merit in the allegations levelled against the petitioners in the F.I.R. has been found and the said officer has recommended that a cancellation report be prepared and filed in the Court vide his enquiry report dated 5.9.2018 approved by PARVINDER SINGH 2018.09.14 16:28 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh
CRM-M No. 35744 of 2018 and CRM-M No. 25201 of 2018 Superintendent of Police, Amritsar (Rural) on 7.9.2018. According to him, the petitioners are not required by the local police in connection with further investigation. If at any stage as a result of further investigation they are required to be arrested the local police would give seven days advance notice to them.
However, learned counsel for the complainant has contended that Lakhbir Singh though having a Passport has furnished a false affidavit before the investigating officer that he is not holding any Passport. The State counsel has been directed to get the matter probed by the local police and if it is found that he has furnished a false affidavit then necessary action in accordance with law be taken against him.
Learned counsel for the petitioners states that in view of statement made by the State counsel he be permitted to withdraw the present petitions.
Permission is granted. The petitions are dismissed as withdrawn.
