The present civil writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for appointment in Punjab Police on compassionate ground in the place of his Grandfather, who had died in harness in a terrorist attack. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner prays for withdrawal of the instant petition.
