(Oral) Prayer in this petition is for issuance of direction to the official respondents to find out the whereabouts of minor daughter 'Niharika' of the petitioner missing since 14.10.2014 and to arrest the absconded accused in F.I.R No. 287 dated 24.10.2014 registered under Sections 363/366-A IPC at Police Station Jodhewal, Ludhiana.
On notice, a reply has been filed by the respondents stating therein that the investigation was conducted by the police by joining certain persons in the investigation and raided the house and business establishments of the persons who came in contact with the prosecution during her journey from Ludhiana to Kalliar Sharif (U.P). One Usman was arrested and was interrogated, who revealed that during the journey from Ambala to Sharanpur, the prosecutrix started talking with him and on the railway station at Saharanpur (U.P), she came out from the train with him. CRM-M-34850-2015 She used his mobile phone and talked to one Anuj of Ludhiana who refused to join her company and also refused to run away with her then Usman took her to one hotel and spent a night with the prosecutrix. . On the next day, he paid Rs.200/- to the prosecutrix and returned home leaving her in a lurch. Usman was figured as accused in the above said F.I.R and was arrested on 31.03.2016 and produced before the Illaqa Magistrate. He is behind bars since then. During interrogation, he could not disclose anything about the whereabouts of the prosecutrix. Various raids were also conducted thereafter, as well. The police has made the best efforts to trace out the prosecutrix. Pamphlets and photographs of the prosecutrix were pasted again at different public places at Saharanpur and Kaliar Sharif. The investigation is still going on.
In view of the detailed investigation conducted by the police, no further orders are required to be passed in the present petition. The petition stands disposed of and petitioner is at liberty to associate in the investigation, in case he found any information about the prosecutrix.
