The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226 read with Article 227 of the Constitution of India is seeking setting aside of show cause notice dated 22.11.2023.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that petitioner was issued passport on 27.05.2011. An FIR No. 101 dated 28.09.2012, under Sections 18/61/85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, was registered against him at Police Station Bilga, District Jalandhar City. He left for UK after getting visa on 04.03.2013. In the aforesaid FIR, he was declared Proclaimed Offender. proceedings. This Court vide order dated 22.05.2023 allowed the petition and he was granted two months time to surrender before the trial court. 4.

Ms.Shweta Nahata, Advocate, submits that if petitioner applies, the passport authority would issue Emergency Travel Certificate within two weeks from the date of application, 7.
