(Oral) The petitioners who are having some dispute with respondent No.4 regarding property and in respect of which a civil suit is stated to be pending, have approached this Court seeking issuance of directions to respondent No.2 to protect their life and liberty and of other members of their family as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of respondents No.3 and 4. While respondent No.3 is Deputy Superintendent of Police, Circle Amloh, District Fatehgarh Sahib, respondent No.4 is a private individual namely Hardeep Singh.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, and without commenting anything as regards the merits of the assertions made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Fatehgarh Sahib, to examine the alleged threat perception of the petitioners. The petitioners would be at liberty to file a detailed representation delineating all the relevant facts. In case, any such representation is submitted within a period of 2 weeks from MOHAN SINGH 2023.04.21 16:50 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CRWP-3840-2023 (O&M) - 2 - 2023:PHHC:056241 today, respondent No.2 shall get the same disposed of expeditiously in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioners, then necessary steps warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest.

A copy of this order be sent to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Fatehgarh Sahib, for necessary compliance.
