Learned counsel for the respondents-UOI has filed an affidavit dated 22.05.2026 today in the Court which is taken on record and on instructions from M.L. Rana, Principal, CCET, Sector-26, Chandigarh has submitted that the order passed by the Division Bench of this Court has been complied with. It has further been submitted that remuneration of the petitioners/contractual lecturers has been fixed/revised at par with the regular employees. It is further submitted that amount which is due to the petitioners would be released within a period of one week from today and in case same is not done and an application for revival is filed then respondents would pay additional amount of Rs.15,000/- over and above the amount due to the petitioners as litigation expenses. Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that as per the stand of the petitioners, pay fixation has not been done in accordance with the entitlement of the petitioners and has submitted that the petitioners be granted liberty to challenge the said aspect in appropriate proceedings and thus, the present contempt petition be disposed of. It is further submitted that the respondents be bound by the statement made before this Court. 3.

Keeping in view the abovesaid facts and circumstances, the present contempt petition is disposed of with liberty aforesaid. Respondents would be bound by the statement made before this Court. 4.

It is made clear that in case the amount as due in accordance with affidavit dated 22.05.2026 is not released within a period of one week from today and the petitioners are compelled to file an application for revival then the respondents, in addition to the amount which they are required to pay in pursuance of the order passed by the Division Bench of this Court and also in pursuance of the affidavit, would be required to pay an amount of Rs.15,000/- as litigation expenses to the petitioners apart from other legal action to be taken.

It would be open to the petitioners to challenge the pay fixation in case they are aggrieved of the same, in accordance with law. 6.

All the pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand disposed of in view of the abovesaid order.
