Apprehending threat to her life and liberty from private respondents, petitioner has filed the present petition praying therein to issue appropriate directions to official respondents to provide adequate protection to her.

While mentioning the factual backdrop of the case, learned counsel for the petitioner contends that petitioner became acquainted with respondent No.5, sometimes in September 2024, they got emotionally attached. Petitioner was under the impression that respondent No.5 has genuine interest in her, but later she came to know that during an intimate moment, her objectionable video was captured. On the strength of the said video, as has been alleged, respondent No.5 coerced her (P) to get married to him.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has also drawn attention of the Court to the copy of order dated 23.02.2026 passed in CRWP-2072-2026 vide which a joint petition filed by petitioner and respondent No.5 was disposed of. Petitioner had herself stated that she does not want to stay with HAMANT 2026.03.27 20:16 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Allegation levelled by petitioner is that post the withdrawal of the said petition, respondent No.5 has been issuing threats to her. Police authorities were also intimated but no action has been initiated. Learned counsel for the petitioner limits her prayer to direct respondent No.3 to decide representation dated 20.03.2026 annexed as Annexure P-3 moved by the petitioner.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Gautam Thapar, Sr. DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and has no objection in deciding the representation filed on behalf of the petitioner. 6.

In view of the request made by learned counsel for the petitioner and the averments made in the petition, without commenting on the merits thereof, the present petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.3 to dispose of the representation dated 20.03.2026 (Annexure P-3), within a period of 4 weeks, from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
