(ORAL) The petitioner has approached this Court seeking writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing the show cause notice dated 23.09.2021 (Annexure P-6) and the enquiry report dated 22.07.2021 (Annexure P-7). On 20.04.2023, learned State counsel who appeared on advance notice sought time to seek instructions with respect to the time period within which the proceedings initiated against the petitioner would be finalized keeping in view that the petitioner has already retired.

Today Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG., Punjab on instructions from Amarjit Sandhu, PPS, DSP.,Admn. Technical Services, Punjab, Chandigarh submits that disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner would be concluded within ARCHANA ARORA 2023.05.03 15:11 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment

a period of eight weeks from today.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he has no objection to the same, however, the pleas raised in the present writ petition be kept open. In view of the above, present writ petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2 to make it sure that the statement made by learned counsel for the State today is honoured and the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner are concluded within the time period as prayed for by the learned State counsel hereinabove.

Needless to say that the pleas and the challenge raised by the petitioner against the show cause notice and proceedings prior thereto including the enquiry report would be open and the petitioner shall be at liberty to raise all pleas including those raised in the present writ petition.
