Quashing of FIR No.141 dated 27.7.2012 u/s 323/ 452/34 IPC registered at P.S. Sultanwind District Amritsar City at the instance of respondent No.2 Amit Kumar, alleging that the petitioners had trespassed his house and assaulted him, has been sought on the basis of compromise.

The parties were directed to appear before Illaqa Magistrate and get their statements recorded. After recording the statements of the parties, a report has been submitted by JMIC Amritsar to the effect that the matter has been compromised voluntarily without any threat In view of Full Bench judgment of this court in Kulwinder Singh and ors vs. State of Punjab and anr 2007(3) RCR (Cr.) 1052, the FIR can be quashed on the basis of compromise as no useful purpose will be served by prolonging the trial when the complainant has settled the dispute.
