Petitioner is working as a Clerk in the office of District Transport Officer,Amritsar and is alleged to be, in connivance with other co-accused, involved in preparing forged registration certificates of stolen vehicles and thereafter selling them to un-suspecting customers.
There is recovery of four stolen vehicles and two fake Registration Certificates from the possession of the present petitioner. It is contended that the petitioner is in custody since 5.1.2015 and after completion of investigation the case, triable by Magistrate, is at the stage of commencement of Pws. CRM-M 363/2016 Singh concedes regarding custody period as also that the evidence of 30 cited witnesses is yet to commence. She further states that petitioner is involved in two other cases of similar nature. Without commenting on the merits of the case, keeping in view the custody period and the fact that trial is not likely to conclude in near future, petitioner, during trial is ordered to be released on bail to the satisfaction of concerned CJM/Duty Magistrate. Disposed of.
