[1] Due to COVID-19 situation, the Court is convened through video conference.

[2] These are two petitions filed seeking regular bail in FIR No. 262, dated 27th November, 2019, under Sections 22, 25, 27 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, registered PANKAJ BAWEJA 2021.11.10 17:44 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document High Court, Chandigarh

[3] One of the main ground for seeking bail is that trial is not proceeding at a decent pace.

[4] Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from SI Gurmeet Singh, submits that after the order dated 7th September, 2021 passed by this Court, out of nine prosecution witnesses, four have been examined. The matter is fixed for today for prosecution evidence. He submits that prosecution evidence would be concluded within six weeks from today.

[5] In view of statement made by learned State counsel, both the petitions are disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to revive the prayer in case of any inordinate delay in the trial. [6] There is no doubt that in case a request is made before the Court concerned for speedy trial, the same will be considered in accordance with law.

[7] Photocopy of this order be placed on the file of connected case.
