(Oral) Prayer in this petition filed under Section 482 CrPC is for issuance of directions to the trial Court/JMIC, Samrala to expedite and conclude the trial in case FIR No.48 dated 05.04.2014 under Sections 406, 498A IPC registered at Police Station, Machhiwara, District Ludhiana. On 24.04.2019, this Court while issuing notice of motion in the case, had directed the District and Sessions Judge, Ludhiana to seek a report from the trial Court with regard to delay and submit before this Court. At the same time, the trial Court was also directed to expedite the trial by giving short adjournments, if possible. Criminal Misc. No. M-18261 of 2019 -2Accordingly, communication dated 08.05.2019 from District and Sessions Judge, Ludhiana along with status report submitted by Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Samrala has been received, wherein it has been reported that effective proceedings are being conducted in the present case and there is no question of lingering on the matter without any cogent reason. Moreover, the present case falls in the list of Action Plan Category and as such, it would be given due priority.

In view of the report submitted by the Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Samrala, the present petition is disposed of at this stage. However, the concerned Court is directed to expedite the trial in the case, as the FIR was registered on 05.04.2014.
